Poste proposé : HR and Admin Assistant

Department: Administration, Human Resources and Technical Accreditation
Location: EAM Mauritania

Principal Functions (Major Areas of Responsibility):

Administration and Human Resources Assistant will provide office support to the national Admin, HR and Technical Accreditation Manager by maintaining employees files, drafting correspondence, and performing various other administrative functions. The location of this role will be in Elite Agro office in Nouakchott.

Duties & Responsibilities :

1. Supports human resources department by screening and reviewing new positions applicants.

2. Prepares payroll by calculating pay, distributing checks, and maintaining payroll records.

3. Provides orientation for new employees by providing information packets, reviewing company policies, gathering withholding and other payroll information, explaining benefit programs, and obtaining signatures for documents.

4. Maintains human resources records for employees by recording the hiring, transfer, termination and change in job classifications as well as tracking vacation, and sick leaves.

5. Administers employee benefit (example: medical insurance) programs by collecting information, helping with employees’ files completion, verifying submission to the institutions as per legal requirements.

6. Documents and tracks human resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

7. Sets up and schedules meetings for interviewees, managers, employees, and department heads.

8. Accomplishes human resources department and administration mission by completing related results as needed.

9. Take all ad hoc instructions from Admin, HR Manager.

Profil recherché pour le poste : HR and Admin Assistant
  • Formal Education Required: Diploma DEUG (Bac+2) _ in Social Sciences
  • Related Professional Training, Certification or Membership: Mandatory Diploma DEUG (Bac+2)
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in a social sciences field.
  • Years & Field of Experience required: More than 2 years of experience in Human resources assistance role.

Job-Specific Competencies required to successfully perform the job

  • Written and verbal communication skills (French and Arabic)
  • Organizational skills (ex :Calendaring skills,Spreadsheet preparation and tracking skills)
  • Administrative writing and reporting skills 
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel …) processing skills 
  • Presentation skills
  • Resilient teamwork player with a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of work legal framework and Best Practices
  • Record keeping and data collection skills
  • Budget Planning.
